Drop it in the same cut and PIAIL… simple!

Have been seeing this quite often this year on the tour coverage but if we are honest has never really sat well with us.

So, you hit it in the rough by the green, and on tour, usually not lying well. There is a sprinkler, yes! now get to drop it on the green. (No, not in our opinion!).

We think that whilst you can get relief from the sprinkler you should always have to drop in the same cut of the grass you are in. If you are in the rough you stay in the rough, just drop clear of the sprinkler.

Seems counter-intuitive to us that if you hit in the rough you get to drop on the green, clean ball etc…

Do not use the rules but play by the spirit of the game [PIAIL]
