The Open Championship 2026

Wasn’t it pleasant to see a pace of play that didn’t use the 40 (or 50) second time allowance for every shot. Work out the number, choose the club (as Ryan said is normally only one or the other) and then hit the shot. Not rocket science, but it is GENIUS.

I do not know if it is a RyanFox thing, a Fox family thing (given the sporting history) or a #NewZealand thing but I do know it is how the game should be played.

Well done to the #RandA for running #TheOpen Championship with not only a focus on the golf and course but also a focus on the way the game should be played.

Well done to Sam Burns as when the winning putt was holed, he stood and applauded his opponent and congratulated his great play. (A stark contrast to the end of the FIFA World Cup).

The end of another major golf season, and now we are into the (not so important) #PGATour #FedExCup and the #DPWorldTour #RacetoDubai.

Congratulations to #RoryMcIlroy #AaronRai #WyndhamClark #RyanFox. A great, varied, and some were unexpected 4 major winners for 2026.
